The Crater nickname comes not only from the otherworldly look of the colorway, but also from the Crater Foam, a sustainable cushioning system made from Grind rubber and foam, found in the insole of each shoe. The Jordan 1 Zoom Crater features a black and grey upper made primarily from recycled materials. Red stitching accents along the heel stand out from the muted silhouette, adding another dimension that often gets lost in monotone colors. Exposed foam on the ankle lining, a white speckled midsole, and a multicolored outsole made from Nike Grind and “space junk” materials add the finishing touches to this beautiful update. These sneakers released in September 2020 and retailed for $175.
